Fruit Purees

The idea here is to cook frozen fruit until soft, add some honey and then puree with a Handheld Blender

Prep Time: 5 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes 

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of your favorite frozen fruit (with only fruit as the ingredient - no sugar)

    • Favorite fruit combinations are mango and peach, pineapple and mango, and blueberry and strawberry (after pureeing push through a strainer if you are concerned about seeds).

  • 1 TBSP lemon

  • 1 TBSP pure honey (no additives)- optional

Directions: 

  1. Place fruit in a small-sized saucepan and add 1/3 cup water and 1 TBSP lemon. 

  2. Boil gently, stirring occasionally until the fruit pierces easily with a knife, about 15 minutes.

  3. Add 1 TBSP of honey (the fruit may be sweet enough on its own) and stir throughout.

  4. Puree with a handheld blender.  

  We eat this plain with a spoon, mixed into yogurt or drizzled on banana slices.
