Charoset

Charoset

A Passover favorite!  We kept this as traditional as we could and substituted white grape juice (no sugar added - just juice and water) for Manischewitz wine- and added in some freshly squeezed orange juice which gave it very a nice flavor!

Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 12-24 hours marinating time

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 good-size apples, peeled and finely chopped

  • 3 TBSP honey

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ¼ cup white grape juice

  • 2 TBSP freshly squeezed orange juice

  • 1 ½ cups walnut - soaked for 20 minutes and rinsed, then chopped

Directions:

  1. Mix everything together.  This is great if it sits for a day before serving to let all the flavors meld and the apples soak up the sweet deliciousness!
