Cream Cheese

Cream cheese

This is a simple recipe and can be used in so many dishes.  We smear it on bread every morning with avocado and Veggie Frittata. It is also great to have on crackers or bread with things like turkey, olive tapenade or chopped artichoke hearts. All you need is some spices and 24-hour yogurt, which we make in our Luvele Yogurt Maker.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 cups 24-hour yogurt - or any other yogurt you tolerate

  • Small strainer and cloth napkin or cheese cloth and a small. bowl

  • ½ tsp each of lemon pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and/or salt - optional (make sure your spices have no added starches)

Place the Directions:

  • Place the cloth napkin or cheese cloth on the inside of a small strainer. Set the strainer over the bowl.

  • Fill the strainer with the yogurt - the yogurt will be on top of the cloth napkin - I then flip the sides of the napkin on top of the yogurt.

  • Place in the fridge and let drip for 12-24 hours.

  • Remove from fridge, take the yogurt out of the napkin, which should now resemble cream cheese and add in the spices. We used to mix in the spices, but my daughter now prefers it plain.
